Abstract

In April 2014 a deflation of 0.09 percent in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) amounted to 149.06.

Deflation occurs due to a decrease in the price indicated by the decline in the index in foodstuffs of 1.78 percent. Meanwhile, processed foods, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco increased by 1.07 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel by 0.49 percent; clothing group by 0.03 percent; health group 0.98 percent and education, recreation and sport 0.07 percent. For transport, communication and financial services relatively unchanged.
