Sectoral Statistics Development and the 2025 Statistics-Loving Village Program (Beautiful Village)

Improving the quality of village data management is essential for evidence-based development.

This was conveyed by Regional Secretary Anang Armunanto when he was a keynote speaker at the Sectoral Statistics Development and the 2025 Statistics Love Village Program (Beautiful Village), which was held online by the BPS of Grobogan Regency, Thursday (17/4/2025).

The Regional Secretary emphasized the basic principles of official statistics, such as relevance, impartiality, professional ethics, accountability, and national and international coordination.

These principles are the foundation for quality data management at the local government level.

This is also in line with the goal of creating a structured and reliable data management system, as part of efforts to improve the quality of development planning and implementation.

However, the Regional Secretary also stated that the challenges at the village level are related to limited human resources who often have to do multiple tasks, which hinders optimal management and utilization of statistical data.

The limited number of village human resources and the need to improve technical skills in managing data are still major issues.

The Beautiful Village Program is indeed a positive step in overcoming this challenge.

However, as conveyed by the Regional Secretary, this program still faces limitations that need to be addressed further.

Therefore, with the coaching carried out through this activity, it is hoped that the village's capacity in managing statistical data can increase significantly.

Villages are expected to become pioneers and models in managing accurate and reliable data, which supports data-based development planning.

The Head of BPS Grobogan Regency said that this sectoral statistical coaching aims to increase the capacity of local government officials.

Through this program, the achievement of the Grobogan Regency Statistical Development Index is expected to continue to increase, as well as produce quality data for more targeted and effective planning.
