Abstract

The development of prices of various commodities in August 2015 generally showed an increase. Based on the results of monitoring in August 2015 inflation of 0.39 percent, or an increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 123.74 in July 2015 to 124.22 in August 2015. The inflation rate of the calendar year (January-August) in 2015 amounted to 2, 28 per cent and the inflation rate year-on-year (August 2015 to August 2014) amounted to 6.63 percent.

Inflation occurs because of the increase in the price indicated by the rise in the index of 4 (four) commodity groups, ie groups of foodstuff by 1.36 percent; food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco by 0.50 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel by 0.06 percent and education, recreation and sport 1.47 percent. While the clothing as well as transport, communication and financial services decreased respectively 0.15 percent and 0.66 percent.
