Prabowo Appreciates Inflation Control Mechanism in the Country

Acting Head of BPS, Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti and staff attended the Regional Inflation Control Coordination Meeting which was combined with the Socialization of the 2025 Minimum Wage Policy at the Ministry of Home Affairs Office (9/12). Amalia, who was appointed as one of the speakers, delivered the Inflation Review and Price Development Index for the 1st Week of December 2024. "Indonesia's year-on-year inflation every month throughout 2024 is within the government's inflation target range. This is partly supported by relatively stable food prices," said Amalia.

President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto also attended the coordination meeting. In his remarks, Prabowo emphasized the importance of continuing the existing inflation control mechanism. He further appreciated the achievement of national inflation which was successfully suppressed below 3 percent, even amidst global uncertainty.

Prabowo also emphasized the importance of food self-sufficiency as the main key to controlling inflation. The role of BPS in providing accurate data related to food is very much needed in supporting the government's priorities. The Indonesian Minister of Home Affairs, Muhammad Tito Karnavian, also agreed that BPS data support is very important in the inflation control program in the country.
