What is the SOUT Survey?

The SOUT Survey (Agricultural Expense Structure) is an activity that aims to inquire about the cost structure of some strategic commodity businesses from the agricultural sectors. From the survey, BPS will get the profile of the sub-sector business houses, the business structure of the strategic commodities, and the socio-economic condition of the subsector business households. In Kabupaten Grobogan, the number of census block samples affected by SOUT samples was 193 Census Blocks spread over 19 subdistricts.

Why SOUT Survey is done?

Despite the release of ST2013 results, the SOUT Survey has to be done. In the complete enumeration of ST2013, we usually can not ask more detailed questions. While in this survey the question is more detailed than when data collection ST2013 like how many seeds used, how much it costs, how much fertilizer, how much the cost of production, how much harvest, and others.

What are the challenges in conducting this SOUT Survey?

What are the benefits of this survey and who are the users of the data?

This data can be used for the monthly NTP surveys released and quarterly GDP by looking at the cost structure in this survey. In addition, this survey can also be useful for compiling business profile data. For internal BPS, the Balance Sheet and Statistical Analysis and Distribution and Price Statistics may use the results of this survey data. While for the external can be used by various related ministries such as the Ministry of Agriculture.
